For our third day we have the lady who oversees everything at the estate, Katie - the General Manager. Read on to see what Katie gets up to here at Wyresdale and which her favourite reindeer is….
What does a typical day look like for you at Wyresdale Park?
Not how I intended it to be!
How long have you worked with the team at Wyresdale?
I originally started in the cafe in 2014 when my mother was the cook. Then in 2017 I worked behind the bar for the first ever barn wedding and never left! Since then i've been working alongside James creating ‘the most beautiful wedding venue’ and building an amazing team and absolutely love my job!
What three words would your colleagues use to describe you?
Tenacious, supporting and Tolerant!
What is your favourite thing to do in your spare time?
Well in the spring/ summer it's all about spending time with family outdoors, we love Heysham beach, The Lake District and Scorton picnic site but in the winter nothing beats Christmas pjs, candles, blankets and a Christmas film. In fact last Friday was film night with my son and we just watched Miracle on 34th Street and ate Chinese food. Classic!
Favourite Christmas tipple?
Love a Mulled wine or a Baileys Espresso Martini but as I'm always busy I'll just take a quiet cup of tea!
Which is your favourite Quality Street?
I'd definitely rather a celebration but if I had to pick it would be one of the green triangle ones.
Which Christmas song do you have on repeat?
Got to be ‘Baby please come home’! My husbands a butcher so I basically go the whole of December without seeing him , so as soon as it's Christmas eve my house is crazy with excited children whilst he is ‘driving home’ for Christmas. Total sucker for romance at Christmas!
